Surf Economics Survey

Published Sun 26 Feb 2023

Our classic motto goes “A surfing Mum is a happy Mum”. Most Surfing Mums members will agree that getting in the ocean and catching a good wave is one of the most life-enhancing activities you can undertake. Unfortunately, the postive benefits of surfing are not often recognised when it comes to coastal management. Thus, as surfers, our needs and interest typically go unheard.

Surfing Mums President and Surf Economist, Ana Manero, is working to change that. Ana's latest research focuses on the value of waves for our welleing and the Australian economy. The information gathered through this project will help inform polices that recognise and protect surfing environments.

Please have your say in this survey and help this important piece of research!  This survey is the first of its kind in Australia, and forms part of the project “Surfing Economics: understanding the value of surfing to Australian economy and society”.

Completing the survey will put you in with a chance to win a Rip Curl wetsuit (valued at up to $900), a surfboard of your choice (up to $1,000) and one of two $250 Visa vouchers. Please share with family, friends and your entire surfing network, The survey closes on the 14th of April 2023
